Employees working on projects in Denmark pay tax in Denmark. When working in another EU country, employees will generally be liable for tax in the country where the work is performed. However, tax liability depends on several factors - including the length of stay, local tax rules and the applicable double taxation agreements, which aim to prevent double taxation. This means that the employee usually only has to pay tax in either the country of work or the home country. When working outside the EU, there may be different conditions depending on national regulations. In these cases, we work with local advisors to ensure that all tax matters and permits are handled correctly and in accordance with applicable legislation.

DMA always has a responsibility to ensure that our employees are trained in general safety procedures and that they know and follow guidelines on construction sites. When our employees work under the instruction of our customers, the company in question is responsible for ensuring that all employees understand and follow project guidelines and adhere to agreed procedures at all times. And this is where language barriers must be taken seriously. Employees also have a responsibility for their own safety and that of their colleagues.

Language barriers on a construction site can pose a significant safety risk, especially when it comes to understanding work instructions, safety procedures and warnings. Therefore, it is also important that the responsible team leader is fully aware of this and identifies any challenges and misunderstandings. The younger generation in particular are proficient in English and may not need translation into their own language. We assess and rate all our people according to the international language rating system CEFR.

When DMA International provides manpower to participate in a project at our customers, where there are separate or specific procedures and instructions, our customers are responsible for translating these instructions - preferably into native languages to ensure that they are understood. We are happy to assist with the translation work.
